Important Clinical Note: This calculator is based on data from 353 Australian endurance athletes (96 with AF) in the Pro@Heart and ProAFHeart studies. The model was developed for use in endurance athletes (national/international level) and predicts prevalent AF, not incident AF. Prospective validation is of critical importance for establishing our model's accuracy in identifying incident AF. The Pro@Heart study aims to identify incident AF over the next 15 years in a cohort of over 600 young, elite endurance athletes. This tool is intended for clinical decision support and should not replace comprehensive clinical assessment. Always consider individual patient factors and current guidelines for AF screening in athletes.
